Ce n'est pas très bien écrit. L'histoire est bien mais quelques points m'énervent. Un témoin dit à la protagoniste "ils étaient avec l'enfant puis on a arrêté de le voir" 2 minutes plus tard elle se demande si cet enfant a réellement existé?? Par ailleurs, elle se demande pourquoi les parents ne vendent pas l'île... sur laquelle ils ont enterré leur enfant!

Quite a few editing mistakes which takes me out of the story at times...

I want to DNF SO BAD. Hazard has complex PTSD. He's having major flashbacks and panic attacks because of the case. What does John Henry tell him? Get over it. Not in those exact words. But that was the gist of it. Get over it. As a mental health professional who specializes in PTSD I wanted to throw the book at the wall!

Sigh... Harry better evolve and seek redemption. His narcissistic approach makes me want to punch his pretty face.

I don't know if I want to finish it... the hypocrisy... she's abusing his trust and his amnesia for her own selfish motives. I don't give a rat's ass how many excuses she makes to justify it, it's not ok. None of it.

Someone send help. I can't stop.

Aside from the few issues in the time-line, it's a cozy light story.

Not my favorite Kleypas book. Most sexual scenes when the MCs first got together were non-con or veeeeerrryyyyy dub-con. Which ruined the experience given how nice Alex is portrayed.

I hated Dougless at first. I don’t like professional victims. She got better with the story, and now I mainly like her. And I adore their banter. Nicholas is just.. chef's kiss.

Sooooo he rapes her in the 1st 50 pages of the book. And she likes it.
This alien man, on an alien planet, abducted her and tied her to a bed to rape her, and she liked it. How can Eva be against the abduction but for the rape just because Max is drop-dead gorgeous? I hope it gets better because this is not ok. I don't mind on page sexual aggression, but for the heroine to actually enjoy it is a whole other matter.

So far, it has been one long, agonizingly frustrating read, and I just can't stop. I'm happy people knocked some sense into Merripen. For God's sake, man, get it together.

Loving it so far

I have never cried so much reading a book... what...

I knew it was an age gap... why oh why did I go for it. Aside from the few editing mistakes and having to pretend Liam is in his mid-30s and Kiara in her late 20s, I'm quite enjoying it.

Mitch is still a pushover, and Mara isn't evolving... at all... why am I still reading?

Mitch is coming on hard and strong and bossy and not the good kind. I want to punch him. I hope he gets better...
