I just can’t read any more of this book. I don’t want the imagery in my head. Too gross for me.

I had to pause to read The Sheep Queen, which my library bought by my request. I love my librarians. The Sheep Queen is classic Western Literature and a great family saga.

OMG! This is a such a great book! Like Everything Everywhere All At Once, only much more lucid.

I wish this book lived up to Amor Towles’ others. I listened to the audio book. The characters just don’t interest me much and I don’t like any of them. That makes a story hard to stick with. There are too many ‘tough guy’ men and Hollywood stars in here for my taste.

The first part of this book (New York stories) is great. But once the book moves to Los Angeles and Hollywood, it lost my interest. Unfortunately , the first part of the book is much shorter than the second, or maybe it just feels that way to me. I read Rules Of Civility years ago. The LA stories are either from that novel or closely related to it.

This is wonderful book! The characters are well developed and the story is completely accessible for people like me, who have never played a computer game and never will.

Oh, this is a marvelous story!

It gets much more interesting starting at page 200! Life is looking up for Damon at last!

Appalachian Dickens.
“It’s safer knowing more about people than they know about yourself u.”
Lot of truth in that statement.
This is a book you have to stick with and hope it gets better for this boy. I forgot how life in the Dickens world is nothing but rough patches on a hellish road. Modern Dickens has a whole array of new tortures for a homeless boy in a mean world.

I can't stand it anymore. I'm 2/3 through and the author keeps adding new characters to the story. The existing characters are boring enough, but at least I can keep them straight. I give up.

I just finished chapter 21, describing first contact with the native people. Just beautiful! It brought tears to my eyes, and I hardly ever cry.
