kind of prosey but I’m glad to finally be starting it - people have really gassed this book up
so it may be hard for it to live up to things

absolutely phenomenal! I am currently reading a library copy but will need to get my own copy.

The prose is so juicy. I know it’s a classic but it just zings to me.

Maybe because my high school bias against victorian writing longer than a novella expected this to be an “important” slog but I am loving it 😍

I hated it. Regretted that I didn’t dnf it but the awful stuff wasn’t apparent at the beginning- I won’t be giving it an official review because I don’t want it to be the first thing on next year’s wrapped

it has religious abuse, domestic abuse, sexual abuse all framed with a terrible “love story” and implausible connection

ugh. I am not at all loving this book. If I wasn’t past halfway I probably wouldn’t finish it

A dear friend only gave it 2.5 stars so part of me
is braced for disappointment but so far I’m deeply amused

so excited to be rereading this bit of
fun before the 4th comes out 🎉

As someone who has a lot of complicated feelings about clothes and the way people judge (consciously or not) based on appearance this is a tremendously worthwhile, scholarly, and compassionate exploration

needed a comfort read so here we are on round two of this absurdly long but enjoyable book

this protagonist is driving me a little bonkers and the audiobook reader is not great at doing the voices and the plotting is clunky …. but yes I will still be finishing it

my southern self definitely expected a series with biscuit in the title to be set somewhere more like here and less like seattle 😆 but gotta be open to new things
