Not very horrific or fantastical so far

Not terribly impressed so far.

A third through and so far, this is not good.

This should be called "New Avengers, Volume 1: Hard Men Making Hard Man Decisions Like On '24'"

One thing I like about some of this older stuff is how it forces me to look up so many darned words. That doesn't happen too much with more modern fiction.

Halfway through and these suck. Worse, they are painfully lazy in the attempted edginess.

First story sucked

So far, it's not bad, but the entities are largely too malevolent, when they should be more *indifferent*.

Wow, this is actually getting less original by the page. The biggest problem with the first book & this one so far is that this person isn't writing Han Solo. This person is writing the character they wish Han was instead of who we know he is from, you know, 4 movies.

I wonder how much of this will make it to "Solo"?

Wow. This one is even further right than usual. It reeks of Murphy's corrupt politics.

Christ, did a bunch of these authors get together and decide as a group that they would actually include Lovecraft as a character that exists in their stories, or did they all come to it individually? Either way, it's pretty annoying.

Jeez, calling Derleth a hack seems unnecessarily unkind to hardworking hacks.

These August Derleth stories are terrible, particularly when compared to the company they are keeping. Especially "The Dweller in Darkness" which is like one of those songs where they name every band they know or that Megadeth tune that uses all the Megadeth song titles as the lyrics. "Err, I know all the Mythos names!! Imma use 'em as a story!!!!"

Well, this sure reads like a paranoid 70s novel, except that the author seems to have confused the coasts: the barbarians were at the gates on the East coast, not the West. And a 9mm *is* a light round, damn it.

Wow. Stan Lee's a terrible writer. But at least these are terrible in a cheesy, over the top way.
