I encountered this author with her latest collection of stories Paradise and Elsewhere 2014. I was riveted by her succinct description and slightly understated/blurry acerbic wit. She is a clear-sighted writer; her characters reflect this clarity in their attitude to life as well. There is more directness in their approach and less sympathies for their folly. I went on to read The Find, 2010 a novel - based in Canada
