What a disturbing, engaging and strangely comforting book. It's like sinking into a warm, fuzzy mystery with a cup of hot tea and rain outside.

Murakami's brand of weirdness can either go down the philosophical route of stoned tree-hugging hippies or the nonsensical madness of Mad Hatter & Co. going through their endless tea party. I've encountered whale penis and sexual attraction to ears, so far. I have no idea which path I'm on so oray for me.
