Reading a 1954 children's book on Harriet Tubman as research for her fictional portrayal in my own novel. It's surprisingly sophisticated, and giving me a few nuanced insights into what the character of Harriet Tubman - the woman we alternately know as "Moses" or "Minty" - might be/have been like on a day-to-day basis.
