Impressed byLabatut's writing in The Maniac, I decided to pick this and its truly greatly written. Its haunting and chilling from the start and since I donot have accurate historical context of either Habers life or Schwarzschilds life but on a high level , it feels Latbut has taken certain creative freedom but its brilliant the way he writes. Its brilliant in the way it connects the science and humanity.

The first chapter before going to Eugene Wigner's take, the way Benjamín Labatut writes about Paul Ehrenfest is destructively beautiful, feverish and almost dreamlike.I am mesmerized by the sheer poetic tone he ushers onto you about the profound alienation and loneliness that Paul faced and puts the word of his lover Neily in a way that you cannot stop reading it while being drawn to a certain call of a singularity..
