Spooky book for Halloween

Unexpectedly, I am so close to giving up on this. But I will persevere.

I have no idea what's going on or who any of these people are.

Why are there like one million named characters, there is no need for this

Hoping this will get me out of my months long reading slump 🤞

So I'm only 100 pages into this book and there are 35 named characters (that I counted) in this book so far.

That's about 30 too many! Why does it need so many different characters?

I’m back from my reading slump! It definitely wasn’t this book that put me into it. This book is great. Sally Rooney is so smart.

I swear my latest reading slump was not the fault of this book. This book is great. I'm back into reading now, btw.

I love Sally Rooney's attention to detail in her writing. Makes everything feel so real and relatable.

In other news, I feel like there's a lot more fan service in this book compared to her others. The sex is on steroids. I can't believe I gifted this to my mum.

I keep thinking about some of the men who follow her on instagram, maybe the same kind of men who would laugh at sexist jokes and roll their eyes at feminist theory, but who still follow her because she's hot. They'll never read this book and they'll never want to. They don't care what she writes about. That makes me so mad.

Getting there

An easy and enjoyable read, so far

Fuck this book is pretentious

This is so hard. This book makes me feel so dumb

Finished part one, onto part 2 now. So far it’s been one heck of a wild ride. Gotta love stories about unlikeable characters making terrible decisions. So far though, I can’t help but root for all of them. I find myself questioning all of the characters’ motives, what all of their dialogue and actions say about them. It’s like a mystery novel. I kinda feel like I’m reading Great Gatsby

Oh my god. I love this

This books doesn’t have quotation marks. So the reader has to work out when people are speaking or not. I hate it

This book has officially broken my heart and also certified that men are indeed trash

Less than 50 pages in and I already feel so emotionally connected to these characters. I hope it keeps getting better
