Love this bit, the narrator is describing how she felt when she first went to a library:
"I felt the company, not only the company of the writers, but the readers too, because they had lifted and opened and read these books. The books were worn in a way they can only get worn by hands and eyes and minds; these were the literal original Facebooks, the books where faces had been..."

Jane is reading The Troubadour's Song: The Capture and Ransom of Richard the Lionheart
14 percent read over about ten days. It is slow going. I am finding it interesting but need to intersperse it with something more of a page turner.

Jane is reading The Great Man
didn't think I would enjoy this to begin with, lots of art critique which is over my head. I either like a painting or don't...simple soul! However enjoying the build up of the interesting characters...over half way now :)

The Hungry Tide is set in the mangrove tidal country of India and Bangladesh. The main characters are an American girl with Indian heritage who studies dolphins (which are found in this country, an illeterate local who knows where to find dolphins and a businessman with relatives living there who acts as her interpreter. It is a delightful tale and I am fascinated by the geography
