First 2 stories were cool but kind of head scratchers for me. Just read the titular story though and absolutely loved it. Maybe Bora Chung’s strength is in ghost stories. I just thought this one was a great horror story and has also been the most thematically potent for me so far.

Loved this set up and the exploration of what a doppelgänger represents and connecting it to the way many of these alt right movements serve as doppelgängers to our current “progressive” societies

Loved the titular story especially the characterization and the way the narrator shifted between characters. Lots of commentary and discussion of womanhood and girlhood as well of what the roles of women are expected to be vs how they see themselves and what drives them

onto section 5 and stuff is actually starting to happen

a slow burn so far but i don’t mind. Eleanor is a fascinating character and i’m loving all the little ominous details and character parallels with the tragic backstory. Loving this so far.

Eleanor my little meow meow. kinda obsessed with the characterization of this character like the little fantasies she constantly comes up with and knowing her past and the one interaction we saw with her sister that tells us everything we need to know… yeah this is crazy

i was dreading the inevitable conflict in their relationship but it resolved so fast i loved it. i want to keep reading but have to sleep🙄

WOW their relationship is progressing so well and i love how the author writes sex like they never explicitly say what’s going on but it’s so hot. Also I care about Alex more as a character i think his career crisis is really compelling and i’m starting to really feel for and get him more as a character. I’m very sad for him getting kicked off the campaign but also happy cus it was stressing me tf out😭

I love the exchanges b/w alex and henry but everything else feels a little off like it’s not quite working
