I know this is nitpicking but Violet saying shit like ’im was holding onto the rope like my life depended on it’ (not a direct quote bc i cant be bothered to check), while you are on a trial where you literally will die if you let go is just, bad writing

I can’t believe that I read this in middle school, it is such a brutal book and definately better suited for adults since it takes a (somewhat) developed brain to realize the full scale of the horrors going on

Holly Black is truly the queen of writing the hot scary woman x male wife pairs, and I’m here for it

Also reading Wren’s internal talk of Jude, Oak, Madoc and Cardan is so funny since as the reader I know she is so off the mark.

Okay I absolutely hate the way the trial scenes are written, they are way too chill with the mcs constantly saying shit like ’now was not the time to talk’ etc. and then they just… continue talking and taking their time???

Besides the trials I like the characters and the world :)

My issue with all trial ’trope’ stories is that I am so bored by all the trials

This is my most anticipated reads of the year and that is why you shouldn’t read unfinished mystery series.

I have no idea how I’ll cope before the third one comes out. I desperately hope this is a trilogy (for my sanity) and that this series never ends (also for my sanity).

I cannot say if the series has been ’good’ so far I just personally love it a lot and am (clearly) loosing my mind over it.

I absolutely won’t believe any adult would be this mad about a less-than-year relationship someone had when they were 15 (even if u have insane levels of childhood trauma and anger issues)

I think everyone in this book make so many shitty decisions and are various levels if bad, maybe that is the point though.

It has been a bit over four years since I read this so it is finally time to give it another go and see if the fantastic shitshow that CoHo books are is still as entertaining.

This books as good as it is just has so many pet peeves of mine. As sweet as it is to say that you can just look up in different places and still see the same stars, you literally cannot as the sky you see depends on the pov you have to space, so two places of different latitudes will not see the same stars at the same time

they did not just call swimming with undervear on skinny-dipping.. I hate it here (romance books with wierd stigma about nudity when we all know ur gonna be banging real soon)

othervise I am really enjoying the book!

I immediately forgot who was who and what everyone looked like but other than that, so far so good

The chapter titles in this are fucking fantastic

This has been incredible so far, if this keeps up I might have a new favorite…
