the boys of k/3/5 are on their last night on "bloody Peleliu" as they called it after a month long battle. they are finally eating hearty rations and finally have clean water. they also are no longer sleeping on the hard coral anymore they get hanging hammocks. but that is what almost kills the author Eugene because a stray bullet from meant for the army almost hit him in the rear. the men were so weak they struggle

the boys were waiting toi get off peleliu so while they waited in the hot son to what was somewhat safe for the ship to pick them up. that day he realized how bad the war had gotten for some of these people when he pulled out his prized war souvenir, a severed drying not rotting hand off the enemy. the author had gotten used to the gold teeth pulling but this was just too much. he was revolted as to what the war was

as the men went out for a patrol they found a couple of fellow dead marines. they had been blackened due to the decomposition process in the tropics but these were different. they were both badly mutilated by their enemy one with his head and hand cut off the other looking like an animal maimed carcass as it was described.

the men were so worn down even the enemy noticed. in a captured japanese document it read that they had appeared worn out and not fighting as aggressively. luckily they got this 9 days before they were relieved by the army. but the combat took a change as he describes it, its some kind of alien battlefield nothing seemed real anymore all gore mess waste of life the coral powder covered land and equipment that turned

3/5 is reliveing the 7th marines as they had been on the ridge for so long. as they were replcing the guys on the ridge they got the scoop of what to expect but when he gets to where he is supposed to be he finds an unhappy young man he doesnt understand why as the guy is being relieved but when he goes to lift up the mortar the young man is reluctant and notices the blood of the tow other americans killed he unders

as the days lead up they close in on the remaining japanese. even with dwindling numbers they push forward. a lot of the marines who were on the ridge had emplaced themselves for the best protection they could in the hot jagged coral. they were so pinned down if they peeked their head theyed be shot at instantly. the japanese were so quite as they moved their gun 9emplacements. eerie as the author put it. the author-

the boys are on their final days on the island. they are left mopping up whats left of the japanese. but they are still losing many casualties. one person they had lost was someone so near and dear to the company their captain "ack ack". the most respected and loved man of k/3/5 was killed and there was nothing they could do about it.

eugene had severed as a stretcher bearer for a small bit and was carrying wounded while pinpointed by japanese. he also talks about where a mate had a close call when he went to take a dump and got surprised by a remaining japanese.

most of Peleliu is taken from the japanese yet he continues to see the brutality of combat as he begins to be relieved by an army unit they got shot at point blank by the remaining japanese resulting in many casualties yet leaving him unscathed for the most part.

sledge is preparing to disembark on the operation they had trained for so long but knew nothing about. he had discussed his fears to the reader as its the night before he hits the beach. he asks will he be disabled? killed? all things he felt everyone else were asking themselves.

the author is just wrapping up the training needed for his next operation. he also talks about some of the things and people he notices around the camp. such as people that had a significant impact on him through the war and the rest of his life

just giving thanks and telling me what to expect through the book. next page it actually starts

William Wharton was introduced to the block. when he was getting picked up by the guards and looked all doped up so they thought he would be easy. once they got him to the block he broke character and tried strangling dean with his chain.

not much hs changed since the last time since i read since its only been two pages

the tension is growing inside the prison. people are losing it and making friends with a mouse named steamboat willy which previously was Mr jingles. not a lot has changed since then. percy is still a mess and everyone is dealing with it.

delacroix has been executed and Percy is long gone to his new job. with all the time Brutus and paul have they dont have much to do. one night Brutus decides to clean the padded room and finds where Mr jingles the mouse gas gone. he also realizes that the mouse has coloured spools and some peppermint scented thing to remember Delacroix by. after showing paul Brutus tells him that hes done executing people and so was

john Coffey is a quiet man. spends some nights crying in his cell. percy is vile as ever. he is to execute Delacroix and be on his merry way to his new desk job at a new prison so he can stop bothering everyone.

the main characters were introduced. the back story of john coffey of how he commited the crime and how he was caught by the towns people.

Stephen talks about greek philosophers views on space and time and how some stuff was accurate and some was not

Rasheed had found out about tariqs visit. he got angered and started to beat Laila. rashed lashed at her repeatedly until he got her on the ground and started to strangle her. he got to the point where she started to turn blue until Mariam hit Rasheed over the head with a shovel twice killing him with the second hit.

star rose up against tyrany.she got king arrested a new home and got to keep her boyfriend. and her family got a new store after hers was burnt down and almost killed her.

laila is starting to visit aziza even if it kills her. shes been beaten to a pulp by the taliban. but neverteless lalilapersited and she got to see her daughter for hours if she wanted to because rasheed wasnt hoolding her back. the orphanage worked out for aziza thoughbecause she is learning even though the taliban prevent it

The marines have made it across the lagoon and made it the beach. they made it to the beach whilst suffering immense casualties. most officers were taken down and a lot of battalions torn to shreds. but one soldier took charge of the remaining soldiers and managed to charge the beach.

the troops had just gotten on the lvps when the japanese attacked first. everything was delayed at first which caused alot of issues. but at one point the first wave of marines made it accross and into the lagoon,

it starts off with khalils ifuneral. then it goes to the king lords at khalils funeral putting a bandana on his body.

it is khalils funeral. everyone is there and distraught. the church hears some news that the cop who shot khalil would not be arrested. the king lords show up putting a gray bandana on khalils body as a final good bye to their fellow gang member.

starr is mad at her friends for flexing on her without even trying. then she finds out that her . best friend unfollowed her on tumblr and it hurt her because it is sacred ground. then her boyfriend tries talking to her and starr tries beyonceing him witch doesn't work.

this chapter is fovusing on charlies mums life after prison. it also focused on how much worse charlie and his behaviour got. it got to a point where he was sent to a foster care home which he called a gulag.
