Pt 2 "I Went To A Marvellous Party" - 4 Stars - perfect location for a River story but the last third kinda fumbles itself with too many people involved in solving the murder.

Part 1 The Boundless Sea: Feels like the Matt Smith Era Pandorica. Fun start but not as strong of a start as some of the other box sets of this era. Alex Kingston is a natural here though. She brings a great dramatic weight to this story. 4 stars as this is emotionally revealing for River and gives us good seeds to look forward to in the future.

This makes me feel like playing "Vanquished" with how the movements are.

The top panel is the most death note panel I've ever seen

I was not expecting to get hyped over the amount of rivals the main characters having when coming into the next cup. I want these guys to get their series.

A fire has been lit. The rug has been pulled out from underneath you. I feel like this is where the series really has start.

I miss Aja's art for this one because is he was here for this one this would be a 5 star so far. Current 4.5

Assault on Weapon Plus Part 3 has some real bite to it. How we are just thrown in works so well here.

Just finished essentially issue 130 and the standout to me is Of Living And Dying. Nuff said brought a great non verbal story to this run where as this specific issue really dials things back to just focus on one character we almost know nothing about outside of where he was picked up. This gives us a great way to bond with a quickly complex character after just one issue. That is impressive.

This page makes me actually breathe. I love how they talk about how it is actually a burden.

This is my first time really reading an Alan Moore work. I read Watchmen years ago but it didn't connect with me in the way it does others for some reason. That will be revisited soon. Morrison and Moore are similar in the fact that their writing can really make you feel something different and unique. This story of self identification is something I've never been able to relate to on this level with any other mediu

Batman year 100 meets the fluid movement of John Romita Jr's movement from Daredevil Man Without Fear while cranking the action to 11.

Scale, danger, intelligence, fear. This hulk makes me feel a lot of things that most other comics can't make me feel

Burnout. I'm not saying this is the books fault but reading this series straight I recommend a break after vol 2 or 3. Take some time for things to digest.

Constantly this series just adds new things to juggle on top of just the kids locating the keys and managing a life after their father. I like how also the rules of the "game" are naturally established like with the talk about the Anywhere Key.

Don't overlook the parents. I don't mean in the story but I'm keeping a note if that.

The page turn was something I brought up in my Volume 1 notes but here I'm also seeing that they do what tv/films do where character dialogue for the next scene will overlap the currently ending scene. It adds a nice flow to the reading experience.

I also just wanted to add that all the siblings I feel all carry an equal amount of weight in the story. If one is taken out the dynamic of each character is different.

I'm reading a ton of comics and manga and graphic novels to study the medium specifically in how they tell the story. How are the panels broken up? Do they use the page turn? How is the dialogue told? After reading this first half-ish I see a lot of layers in the character developments, the world they inhabit, how pain is portrayed, etc. It does a great job filling this story. I have so much I want to know now.

So I'm about halfway through and I've seen the anime 10 years ago so I vaguely remember this one. The first half was all over the place to me because I had no idea what any of the class was doing. I now am at the reveal not spoiling but if you're halfway through ans think to drop it don't. I was not here for it ans now *click* it all makes sense

The art and coloring brings this world alive. I love the subtle humor like the end of issue 2. The fialogue for the feds and gcpd can bog the story down a bit bit I get thats how their world building. May pay off better later

1/3 of the way in. Kirby's art holds up very well but his writing just hasn't overtime. Jack seems to work better with a separate writer for his process. His dialogue is stilted and you can see Colletta's classic move of taking things out of the backgrounds. I'm reading this to read 2017 Mister Miracle. I like the concept but I'm hoping to see some more variety in villains soon.
