How many times can the main character be called “the redhead” in the span of a single chapter

“But I am only a male and I am searching for my queen. I’m allowed to have my favourites.” how does anyone write this stuff seriously

welcome to another episode of why am I doing this to myself? alas I have somehow made it through 40% of this ACOTAR rewrite so might as well finish it

I am about to DNF this book I’ve listened to about two solid minutes of the MFC whine pathetically about a boy shes known for two months and had about 5 collective on page minutes with because he’s leaving. I really like Natalie Naudus as a narrator but not even she and 1.75x speed can salvage this. Might try to continue as an ebook.

I am 37% into this book but all that’s happened I might as well be 5%? I don’t mind a slow build up if there’s like character/relationship/something development but so far there’s nothing. Her and the love interest have already caught feelings despite having about one meaningful interaction so far and the personalities are just so bland. Reads very YA so far.

there’s a nerdy cute librarian girl RIGHT THERE and yet nami gets shown a smidge of interest by the shady rebel boy and all brain cells go out the window?

Not a fan of this whole ‘she was dead except she wasn’t actually dead and now she’s alive’ plot and also her body was in the oak tree this whole time? Sage’s whole
gift is about how plants speak to her and yet they couldn’t find her body in the woods? she never used to gift to try? doesn’t make sense and it’s deeply unsatisfying instead of having the living sisters process their grief

Not sure if it’s because I’m listening to this an audiobook or it’s the book itself, but I’ve spent most of this book just getting increasingly annoyed at pretty much everyone

is this book for real. gideon made a huge fuss that made them both feel incredibly awkward and uncomfortable because he doesn’t want to share a BEDROOM with her - not a bed, two single beds in a bedroom - in case she knows he’s 32 and still a virgin? god these books just worse and worse

only 4% in but I’m so bored? This beginning is so, painfully slow and I don’t know if it’s an audiobook problem or a writing problem

literally on the first page of this book and it’s already annoying me. it’s a crowded train platform and she pushes past him to get onto the train. the incident takes about 5 seconds and all he really sees is her red coat but somehow he notices that her nose has a ‘regular curve’ (what does that even mean) and a ‘heart shaped mouth’ ok. also, she’s a woman so i’ll allow her to push in front 🤢
