Enchanting, funny, touching

I really thought parts of this book were beautiful Some were funny. I confess to not “getting” it, but it wasn’t written in my storytelling tradition. It didn’t have to be.

I am not religious, I am definitely NOT an evangelical Christian. But I am sometimes interested in how religion works, or religious history, or the interaction of religion and politics in the US.

This book was recommended in a FB non fiction group and sounded interesting. When I first got it it looked like it would be way too scholarly, but it isn’t!

Reading it for the ICT reading challenge. It is surprising me.
