Large print because it’s what my library had on hand 😆 flows easily. Too many characters for my liking (not really even that many) but luckily you don’t get lost between who is who, the author will tell you or remind you when it matters.

The foreword was pretty long considering how short the book is but I think it may be better than the works themselves. I do not have a lot of knowledge about 50s-60s USA (or like. Anywhere). as embarrassing as that is, and so a lot of this means very little to me. It’s so short tho I want to read it just for the check mark ☑️

I hate this stupid book. I think it’s dumb. Those are my big thoughts. But I’m almost done. So. I’ll keep going.
I do think she is mentally unwell and careless. Despite what we’ve learned. She still deeply bothers me. The audiobook doesn’t help. I should feel empathy. I don’t think she tries enough for me to care.

Things happened. Plot twist. Didn’t expect this. Was worth waiting for. But like, damn. I’m confused and concerned

Idk how there’s so much more. I’m gonna lose my skip the line copy soon but I am loving this honestly I just want to like stay up all night and finish it. Not so much for the thriller or the “mystery” but just like, getting to know Nick and (Go?) and Amy is so interesting. Even tho Nick’s character is… iffy on morals let’s say

Not much has happened yet but it’s all interesting enough. I want to love this so much so it compensates for all the hate it gets. I don’t think it deserves the hate

So good. Such a little book but so quotable and so interesting! I really needed a refresher on gift economies. This is inspirational

Really good so far. Easy to follow. Slow paced but intriguing. Main character is clumsy and improper and very relatable :) good fall vibes.
