My favourite thing to do on this app is to pick a reading challenge and then proceed to read the longest epic fantasy books then be surprised when I fail the challenge. :)

This is the only book I’ve ever liked enough to re-read. It’s still my favourite after all the years and series I’ve read. The main character’s biggest weakness is his pretentiousness but his story and the world makes it worthwhile. Rothfuss has the best writing style I’ve come across. You can tell he did a million revisions and you can tell it took a very long time to write.

There was too much recap and I’m learning that I prefer “softer” magic systems than this one as allomancy is very much “hard magic”. I think I like medium magic…if that makes sense. It’s interesting reading about the different races. I wish there was more romance in this series, I think that would round it out better. It’s better the more I read it but it’s not as good as the first book yet.

Demeaning in parts that make it uncomfortable to read. The romantic interest is treating the main character terribly but she is still sexually interested in moments when she is being clearly treated poorly and is angry at the romantic interest, it’s hard to get past. Pushing past it to finish the book but I’m not sure I’ll continue onto the next in the series.
