I may take a short break from this series. Not that it isn’t good, it is just a series of compelling payoffs and interesting worldbuilding held together by some droll character stuff. I am trying my best to understand the hype.

I’ve seen a lot of people poopoo this series but I have yet to be unimpressed with it. Even if Adare isn’t my favorite character I understand that she’s easily manipulated and totally confused so get why she is the way she is. I’m having a lot of fun, even if there are some issues…its just really fast paced, entertaining fantasy.

I feel like my insistence on reading doorstop fantasy will definitely be the reason I don’t read 100 books this year.

I'm just reading manga so I can reach my 100 book quota for the year. Don't mind me...

I've actually probably started 100 books this year but my quit rate on books is so bad.

I’ve been gone so long. You’d think I’d be reading a ton during quarantine but my God its been hard to hold my attention.

I am honestly surprised how much I enjoy this book despite being the antithesis of what I like. YA author trying adult fantasy? Check. Lots of cussing to be edgy? Check. But damn this is a fun hodgepodge world and Danika is bae as hell.

Also Maas isn’t the strongest writer ever and rambles a lot...but I’ll forgive it.

So far so good!
