Patriotism: The man and his wife follow through with their suicide. The whole story is very detailed, and the details of their suicides are not the exception. It was crazy how throughout the story they were not even saddened by their forthcoming suicide and they even experienced the most joy they ever experienced in their life, which contrasts with the fact that they were planning to commit suicide. We are introduced to a character called Kawase. He is currently in Los Angeles on company business, away from his family in Japan. He wanted to read something in Japanese so he read a letter from his wife until we memorized it. After, he went out and was walking down the street when he saw a Japanese woman, whom he used to know. They greeted and went to have a cup of tea.

I was reading it but from what I understood it was about a couple. They are very careful spenders and have saving accounts for future investments, including a baby which they really want. The couple goes to meet an old woman but before they do they go through several mall attractions. There’s more to say but it won’t fit so I’ll just say I liked it, but not as much as the previous story, Death in Midsummer.

Two friends Mr. Utterson and Mr. Enfield were walking together when they ran across a mysterious building that Utterson questioned Enfield about. Enfield responded with a story of a mysterious man named Mr. Hyde who Utterson begins to investigate afterward. After some research, he goes to the mysterious building late at night to wait for Mr. Hyde to come by after which Utterson approaches and mildly questions Hyde.

He found what seems to be a really big fish and he's letting it pull his boat until it dies or gets tired but hours and hours go by and the fish is going strong as the old starts to hurt and feel tired. He wishes the boy could be with him but he is all essentially alone at sea.

The old man has been fishing for over 80 days without catching any fish while every other fisher has been catching many fish. He is friends with a boy who used to fish with him and who tries to help the old man in anyway he can

I finished the book like a week ago but i forgot to do updates but basically i really like the play!! I got really into it and I really enjoyed reading it

JUst getting to know all the characters and their relationships

Chris Keller is trying to marry his deceased brother’s exwife but his and his brother’s mom has trouble moving on and accepting that others have moved on too

When reading this book there were a lot of things Manson said that I didn't initially understand so I had to reread them and try to understand Manson's reasoning. This is an improvement from just reading something and moving on without actually understanding what's being said. I had some trouble with staying focused for longer reading sessions, which that isn't exclusive to this book but I still finished the book

Problems and negative experiences are inevitable and looking for quick and easy fixes instead of accepting them and properly addressing them only makes things worse.

The idea of not giving a fuck is more about not giving a fuck about what's not important to you, and not taking failure get to you, and instead grow from it

Seeing other people live fulfilling lives when we aren't makes us feel dissatisfied and critical towards ourselves for not being as "good" as other people

The gang had destroyed much of the house’s interior when they received from Mike that Old Misery was on his way home, earlier than they expected. T tells everyone to keep working.

Trevor, the leader of the gang, is able to get into Old Misery’s house and Old Misery tells him that he will be away for a few days. Upon "T"'s suggestion, they begin to tear the house down.

One of the members is able to get into Old Misery’s house and he finds out that Old Misery will be away for a few days. Upon his suggestion, they begin to tear the house down

There’s a gang of teenage boys and they’re interested in a house belonging to a man called Old Misery.

At first he has trouble accepting that he is going to be executed and tries to imagine cases where he is somehow saved from the impending doom but after a while, and after a discussion with a priest who tried to get him to ask for forgiveness, he let go of any fear he had. He accepted that he was going to die, because it was bound to happen eventually.

Meursault's lawyer couldn't properly defend the arguments made by the prosecutor and he was found guilty of murder, and was sentenced to be decapitated

His trial began and they brought up witnesses. They're using how he acted when his mom died as evidence against him

Meursalt struggles with not having cigarettes and finding ways to pass the time, but he eventually loses the craving for cigarettes and finds ways to entertain himself. His trial finally started

Meursault is tranferred to jail and be has some trouble adjusting. On the bright side, Marie visited him for the 2nd time but the visiting room was loud
