This actually the second time I’ve read it. Brilliant.

I’m reading it again. I loved the story a year ago and I’m sure I’ll love it more the second time 😁

Currently on hold while I read more pertinent titles to my current situation. So far it’s a wee bit obvious.

I'm loving it so far. It has a very fairytale feel to it and Cygna is such a believable character. I'm really rooting for her to survive and succeed.

The story is fascinating as well as the language he uses. The social structure of his time peeks through in interesting ways as well. You can really tell that the style of the era was to write the heroes as more-than-perfect specimens. I keep wanting to say "Ok, ok, I get it, he's a man's man with a perfect build and no flaws"! Not quite as believable as today's trend in character building.

It was very good! A wee bit weird and a wee bit bizarre. An alternate history with fairies (not the nice Disney kind) and magicians and human foibles and triumphs. I truly loved it :o)

It's a kindle version so no page numbers. The book is a bit slow in places but covers several years so is building a very in-depth story with multiple characters and side plots.
An interesting alternative history in the Napoleonic era where England has magicians and the politics of ancient magic. Quite unusual but I'm loving it. Written in a Jane Austin style but with much easier to follow language.
