I'm sad to report that despite my obsession with nearly everything Tessa Dare;s ever written, I'm really not loving this one. There's a charm, energy and wit in her later books that's largely missing here.

So far this is my very favorite of the series! I'm praying that nothing happens to change my mind :)

I'm always a little surprised that Theresa Romain's books aren't rated higher---while she struggles with plotting and pacing a bit (as do the majority of romance authors, imo!), her characters are so lovable, her dialogue is sharp, and her prose is beautiful. Her books also contain a surprising amount of psychological insight that really resonates with me.

I can't even express how much I'm loving this. Tessa Dare's writing is beyond superb, and it's so witty and warm and sneakily insightful!

So Leah is kind of insecure and gets enthusiastic about stuff but almost never follows through and loves people deeply but leaves before she has to risk hurting them? I think Jill Shalvis modeled this heroine after ME, lol. Now where is my Jack?! :)

So nervous about a medical test I have coming up and this is already the perfect spirit-lifting fluff to distract me!

Jil Shalvis nearly always creates some of the best animal characters ever ever and uses these beloved pets to give us funny, cozy moments that I often love more than the scenes which feature only two-legged creatures :) Tank might be my favorite fictional pet of all---this dog is hilariously hyper and has a much more memorable personality than most humans!

Previous books led me to think I wouldn't especially care about Grace or Josh, but somehow I am absolutely LOVING Grace and Josh---individually and as a couple. They're already among my favorite Jill Shalvis couples ever :)

LOVE this one! I can’t believe I put it off for so long!

Just twenty-five pages in and I'm already feeling like this is going to be my very favorite of the Heartbreaker Bay series!

Hmmm...maybe my expectations of this one were so high that it's inevitable I'd a little disappointed?! There are aspects I really like and some of the heartwarming hope and humor that keeps me hooked on Jill Shalvis despite a few criticisms of her work, but the main characters aren't clicking for me so far. I'm finding Mark obnoxiously cocky in a way that's more "ugh" than charming. And Lanie's just...'eh' :)

Still really, really loving this one and ready to declare this as my very favorite Lucky Harbor book of the series! Let's hope nothing happens to change my mind ;)

I've read every Lucky Harbor book except Forever and a Day (I plan to rectify that!), and Head Over Heels is already my new favorite of all of them!

LOVE is not strong enough a word. Did I just say that Aubrey was my favorite Jill Shalvis heroine? I think Chloe is now tied for that honor :)

Much to my own surprise, I really adore Aubrey and think she's one of Jill Shalvis's most interesting, memorable and complex heroines! I think I love Ben as well, but at the moment I'm ready to throttle him. That's a normal reaction, right? :)

Since I'm just 45 pages in, is it too late to declare this my favorite Jill Shalviws book ever?! I've liked parts of the Heartbreaker Bay series, but I've really missed Lucky Harbor.

I'm loving this one! I have some individual nitpicks that I'll ramble about in a review, but none of them matter much compared to how happy and hopeful Shalvis's books manage to make me feel!
