God sets us free, that's what the scripture says, but... We have to fight for the freedom.

Wow - sin can be subtle and self built out of not so bad things. Again it's us doing our will over God's will. Often God let's us go, but will judge it immediately.

Chapter 14 is a great chapter. Digs into sin and hardship. No sin, no hardship to learn from - not meaning if we don't sin we have a perfect life - but if we do sin and don't repent there will be discipline.
Intentional sin being kryptonite - kill our destiny, marriage etc. Is short term pleasure really worth long term hardship and consequences?

The link between idolatry and adultery (as a Christian) is scary. The link between covetousness (not being content) is idolatry is Wow. So not being happy(content) in the will of God is a form of adultery against God. Almost like cheating on our spouse because we weren't content with dinner. Chapters 10/11 got the wheels spinning.

Makes the statement that countries with more may have more "idols" than than countries full of physical altars, idols, etc.
The word adulteress is talking to all believers about us committing adultery against God. Ouch. How often do we put other "ok" things in front of God (and our spouses/families). These ok things include: work, hobbies, friends (sometimes get higher priority than God and fam)

Very good so far. I like the questions at the end of each chapter. They really challenge overcoming many things. Identifying and overcoming our personal weakness. Coming together in unity.
I highlighted a sentence "the last person a SEAL thinks of is himself"
Is this me? Not always, probably not as often as it should be. How often is it me, me, me even when I say others.
