Lisa is on page 21 of 367 of We Were Eight Years in Power: An American Tragedy
Reading Coates is always an experience in realizing how much you've missed and misunderstood in the world. I'm only 20 pages in and my mind is blown. I'm fascinated.

I'm on page 172 of the 2003 hardcover edition and once again it's going back to the library *facepalm* I really do want to finish this book but it's a bit slow going and I keep running into other things to read.

Lisa is starting No god but God: The Origins, Evolution and Future of Islam
There's two different versions of this book this one and the YA edition. I have the audiobook for this one and the ebook for the YA edition so putting this on hold until I can get a hard copy from the library.

I'm really enjoying this book. Unfortunately, I put it down to finish up a couple of other books before New Years and forgot to finish it up before it was due back to the library :(

I'm halfway through the prologue and already in love with this book.

Read through the first three stories before I realized it's too late in the day to be creeping myself out this much. The stories are delicious and the art is absolutely beautiful, eerie and creepy but somehow sweet.

Lisa is starting Big Girls Don't Cry: The Election That Changed Everything for American Women
While what I've read of this seems really interesting, I'm putting it on hold until after the new year. I have a reading challenge to finish up and a bunch of unfinished books from 2014 *winces* to deal with first.

I love the premise of the book but the writing isn't interesting me at the moment so I'm putting this one back on the shelf.

I'm surprised by the number of times I've teared up reading this book. It's been surprisingly touching.

Lisa is reading A Spool of Blue Thread
I've been trying to make my way through several family sagas lately and as the last in the bunch, I've found I lack the motivation to pick up the book and make any significant progress. Right now I'm a couple of chapters in, and while I'm enjoying the writing, I think this is going to be another one that gets returned to the library unfinished.

The only thing linear about this book is the main plot line, everything else is difficult to follow. I don't know if this is partly an issue with the translation, but a lot of it is definitely due to Hoeg's choice of style. I'm intrigued but not enough to spend my time slogging through the rest of the book.
