I’m really enjoying this book and found it enlightening. It reinforces a lot of common knowledge about health, while debunking the common perceptions of fat as a whole. I’m seeing a lot of complaints regarding him contradicting some of his own points, but to me it doesn’t seem that way. As a researcher, I think he is trying to consolidate a lot of information from many different studies.

What is the point of this book? Idk. These characters all feel so two dimensional.

This book does a lot of telling instead of showing. It lacks important details in its storytelling - not in overarching themes, but in dialogue and characterization. Feels like a whole lot of positive affirmation quotes jumbled together. Not sure how I feel about it yet.

So well-written. It’s almost funny, or perhaps absurd, how ridiculously evil slaveowners and white supremacists were and are. Everett manages to capture this absurdity in his writing in a poetic and powerful way.
