This book is so insightful about so many creatures and how they sense the world - and sense the world differently than humans - that this is more than just science journalism. This book is a major contribution to science because it pulls together so many very different pieces of knowledge and illustrates a much bigger picture than we had previously conceived.

I have no more space in my apartment for any more books. Actually, I have not had that space for at least a couple of years. So I buy books (mostly) through Amazon and read them from the kindle. In this case that can mean either the Kindle device, or the Kindle app on the iPad, or the Kindle app on the computer. There are advantages and disadvantages in all those cases. I'll write a short use case analysis later.
