I’ve been aware of Rilke for the longest time and now that I’m FINALLY reading these letters I’m SO GLAD that I didn’t get around to it earlier!!! He touches on something I not only understand but feel and LIVE. What is beyond validating to me at this stage in my life, would be incomprehensible had I read it in the past.

Also, I’m having the best book-year I’ve had in a good while and I’m SO FULFILLED.

So far, l've found myself in tears (that I can't quite place the origin of) every time l've opened this book. Each text, and sometimes a mere sentence, seems to take the air out of my breath and the words out of my mouth. It has awakened in me a feeling I can't place and an urge to draw near this very feeling.

Stockholm pride week read

First time reading a Bukowski novel after only knowing (and loving) his poetry and…… It’s taking me FOREVER to get through this relatively short book. It’s rough and it’s raw and depressing. It’s also witty and funny and real but still DEPRESSINGly real. He’s a genius.

Great, and easy to read. I’m currently in Italy and sometimes I lose track of the plot because of my siblings always interrupting me - but otherwise I’m really enjoying it.
