Hating it.

I'm really not enjoying the main characters of this... The topics are interesting, but the people used to tell the story are not fun.

I'm not in the mood for something this grim, but I've had it out from the library for a while and I should at least make an attempt at it. To be seen if I can stomach it -- the first chapter already left a sour taste in my mouth.

I get why Persephone got so mad, but I really lost my sympathy for her when she got so angry with Hades while still desperate to beg for her mother's forgiveness, the same mother who didn't even show up at their wedding. It felt.. childish and young, and I get it, I really do, but it made me strongly dislike her almost instantly. Trauma or not.

How does this book get such high ratings? I can't stand any of these people?

I've read a few books in my time that failed to get to some sort of point in a reasonable time, one of them quite recently, but this one not only fails to make a point, it's also slow as F.

As great and glorious as I could have expected. House Andrews does it again.

Did people actually grow to like Cora, because I'm finding her pretty bitchy and unlikable based on her interactions with Jasper and the way she treats Fee.

I'm not connecting with this at all. Calling quits, have better things to do with my time.

Can't really figure the purpose of the first chapter aside from being a very slow way to show Mercy as a semi-competent kid? I'm probably being harsher than normal on account of this being compared to Nalini Singh and Ilona Andrews. It's a bit too slow to get into it for that comparison. Let's see if it picks up.
