There is a limit to the number of times you can reasonably have character be interrupted just when they’re about to Reveal Something™️

400 pages in and it’s just occurring to me that someone else could read this annotated copy of twilight and have me (like Alice Cullen) committed.

Stephenie wants the reader to know Bella microwaves lasagna in a Very Normal way. She shows this by describing each step of the recipe-heating process from fridge to table.
