This is like entering another world for me. I realize how blessed I was to be raised by parents who never mentioned skin colors when referring to fellow human beings. Even if we are different cultures, we still are people. I feel terrible for those who can't see that, regardless of their race. I'm curious to see where this book takes me.

It's an adequate quote to give y'all a glance into this story. It is so utterly wretched, yet I trudge on, praying there's justice - or retribution - to help cover the horrid images I now see.

...trying to get through the latest Anita novel & had to go back to when the books were a treat for supernatural action lovers -with that lovely mix of sexual tensions & situations. The latest have been bogged down with long conversations about Anita's relationship woes. I missed the action-the love stories in background & not the forefront. I'll pick Serpentine up again after I get my fill of the good ol' days.

I'm actually enjoying this book even more than the first one. I think the action is more intense and the emotions running higher.

I'm already invested in this story! I love this woman who is rising up from something awful by learning about protecting herself and her children. She's a strong character; I'm sure this book is going to be one of those I finish quickly.
