Byatt’s writing is from a different era, so knowing that context makes me wonder why some reviews say that her writing is boring or bad. It’s simply from a different time where good vocabulary, and knowing how to simply write well were important. I’m on the second short story and while it’s a bit hard to follow, I’m enjoying the fact it’s good literature, and includes incredibly detailed descriptions.

Hooks you with the prologue, and so far three chapters in I’m very intrigued to learn the narrator’s lore.

Very interesting and hard to put down. Even though there’s a lot of complex science, it’s explained well. Im enjoying learning cool science information while being entertained at the same time!
