I just spent about an hour trying to figure out what to read next. It's hot, I'm tired, I'm frustrated that I don't have the energy to start any of the books that I had originally thought about reading next, and this has time traveling cats, so it's settled.

NO NO NO NO NO! Did she even do a general image search of Savannah? Maybe browse the freakin' Wikipedia page on it?

WE WANDER THE quaint streets of Savannah, past old stone buildings and Greek revival homes with porches stacked up three levels, live oaks sweeping low and draped in Spanish moss.

A fan boat? For a marsh? Marsh != swamp and the marshes around the barrier islands off of Savannah are definitely deep enough for an outboard motor. Seriously, Henry could have taken a weekend vacation to Tybee or St. Simons or one of the other islands with beaches and been able to get enough info to write at least a somewhat plausible setting. At least then she'd have known that the sea isn't blue there.

How do you "joyfully" sing along to "Linger" by the Cranberries? What perky optimists even listen to the Cranberries? And would it have really been awful to use the name of a real island off of Georgia for the 11+ million of us who live here and might find it irksome to have someone just randomly make up places? I might have to DNF this, but I'm particularly grumpy today so I'll give it a little more time.

I'll need to try this again later. It's interesting, but I'm not in the right mind-space for this kind of randomness right now.

I've read an absurd number of Beauty and the Beast retellings given that I'm not really into the original fairy tale. I'd like to see one where Beauty doesn't go back to the Beast after she's released, since that's the most reasonable way to deal with a captor who wants to marry you.

Sports are so much more fun when there are dragons and axes involved!
