Informative, but rather too apologetic and uncritical for my taste. Get used to the over-generous use of the phrase "There is no reason to doubt...." when there also usually isn't much evidence to dispel doubt either.

Not exactly a verse by verse type commentary. But a brief but wide-ranging reassessment of the possible political and theological meaning of the text from a kind of Christian-Marxist, or liberation theology perspective. Max Horkheimer is even quoted! Enjoyed it. But I think I'll read another commentary for the deeper textual and historical analysis. Down with Rome, destruction to Nero! 😘 Maranatha!
