I'm feeling conflicted about this book. I want to like it but the entire set-up is just confusing to me. It's described as a character from a mundane world entering a magical world, but the character already lives in a world with magic and mythical creatures, She just doesn't know she has magic at first. Also, it's middle school lit but the character is 16-years-old, which makes the writing style feel weird.
