no power. phone almost dead. need a book to read whose plot i cant remember. this suffices.

only reading this bc my godparents daughter and I are buddy reading it. good lord. not even 100 pages in and i think they've dropped every social issue buzzword ever.

this is not what i'd call a kyla book but i am doing it in the name of character development

i love south african authors because who else will use 'fokkol' in a book

why is it kind of funny so far

have realised why the plotline is so familiar:
- memories wiped/returning - maze runner
- person in glass tank - crescent city
- everything else - the genre ya dystopian as a whole
