Jonah Hill is on page 81 of 144 of The Song of Songs: Textual Commentary and Theological Reflections
This is turning out to be a delightful commentary on the SoS. One of the most balanced that I have read. His interaction with the Hebrew text itself, in both his translation, and footnotes, is subtle enough to enlighten all interested readers, while precise enough to appeal to students of the Hebrew. His theological insights at the end of each section has been astute so far.

So far, very good observations about the lack of moral formation in the life of the pastor. It does appear that many of his criticisms are directed toward the evangelical world at large, specifically, it’s seminaries and pastors. No problem here.

“Pastors today are often adept at strategic thinking, worship planning, etc. but weak when it comes to the cultivation of personal holiness and the ability to make just and ethical decisions. Pastors can often pass the preaching test and the pastoral care test, but miserably fail the moral and ethical test in ministry. And this is the most serious, the test that when failed sometimes means the end of ministry.”

Very good so far. Format and content is easy to follow, and Collins knows how to write for students. For a grammar, I have found this to be a rare thing.

This book has been both peculiar and moving so far. Schilder’s writing/preaching style will catch readers off guard. This has been a challenging read. His section on Satan at the Pulpit of Passion was remarkable.
