So far it is typical Stephen King. Descriptive with great word choices. Adult language and situations have already occurred as well. It is also proving to be a different storyline than the show. I did enjoy the show, but I am looking forward to more answers in the book.

Danielle Jensen is on page 54 of 208 of Lety Out Loud: A Wish Novel
Trying to read this from the perspective of the intended audience.

So far, it has been enjoyable. I struggle with all the Spanish thrown in, but can see why it is there and it definitely helps add to the character of the book and keeps you aware of Lety's struggles.

Possible positive or negative in the first few chapters...the mention of St. Francis and asking for his prayers for an animal's welfare.

Danielle Jensen is on page 81 of 384 of Bea and the New Deal Horse
So far this has been a good story of a girl and her hope, but also the responsibility of growing up too soon because of a tragic event, in this case, the Great Depression.

I am enjoying this sequel and learning Iris's fate. I am being left wanting more of the beautiful prose of the first book though.

I am in love with Roman and Iris! My heart aches for Iris and all she is going through. And the turns that have already happened for Roman. I am rooting for both of them to get the job, knowing only one can. I can't choose a favorite.

Danielle Jensen is on page 72 of 178 of Remember Us
This book has been a fast read for me. Chapters are very short, only 1-3 pages avg, so would be great for reluctant readers that like to see progress.
Woodson does a great job in this novel showing the struggles of black and inner city in 70s New York, without making them victims. Looking forward to finishing this one.

I decided to read this one to be able to make recommendations to my students. First chapter leaves you with some intrigue that you want to find the answers to. 11 characters are introduced rather quickly, so depending on the development, some readers might get overwhelmed. I will update on this going forward.

So far the book has been good. It is definitely in the YA category with current teen slang in the dialogs. I am impressed that there has not been any cursing yet, only a mention of her brother cursing, but no specific word given.
In the very first chapter the book deals with the issue of racism, seen through the eyes of three different perspectives...
The scenes with her brother Rob have been true to PTSD and VA.

Danielle Jensen is 15% done with Treasury of Norse Mythology: Stories of Intrigue, Trickery, Love, and Revenge
So far, this has been a well researched collection with easy to follow descriptions of how the Norse language differs from English(important for proper translation) and how the Norse stories were told and used. I am not a fan of the illustrations themselves, as they feel dull to me.

I am completely obsessed with Adam and Gwyneth and their stories. I think this would be a favorite read for anyone that enjoys historical fiction from the early centuries of the monarchies of the Celtic, Scottish, Welsh, and English people.

This book started out so strong, but has started dragging. I want to finish the book, but I am thinking it will become a DNF. I can not explain why without spoilers.

I am also reading this book because of my daughter. It is her current classroom read, and I heard such great things about it, I decided I would read it too.

My daughter and I are reading this book together for her current AR book. I am worried this may be a tear-jerker book for me. Time will tell.
