I'm sorry what??? Your gown didn't allow for a chimise!?! That is utter and complete BS! There were several different cuts of chimises and shoulder less gowns were not a thing in the regency era. Also, to go without undergarments, especially on one's wedding. That would be unthinkable!

This book is adorable, I have simply no other word for it. By putting a twist on a well-known story Donnelly encourage the reader to think again and reevaluate their perceived notions about who´s really the villain, and victim? I highly recommend giving this book a try.

Full disclosure, yes I have watched the Bridgertons series on Netflix, no I have not read the first book in the series.

I am getting a lot of Pride and Prejudice vibes from this book, two people who do not think they have anything in common, but when it is time to eat humble pie and admit they were wrong they do. On the negative side, their not so playful banter before the humble pie is not so playful.

That was the most poitles tur of events ever, I mean I´m ok with characters dying, but that served no purpose for the story.

Ellery is made of marshmallows, rainbows and sunshine. I want to throttle him, and kidnap him in order to elope to gretna green! That is a good thing btw. The aunt is a hoot and a half, and there is so much warmth and laughter. To boot, Gemma has a personality, which I like.

Well, this is. Interesting, I can see why so many readers have issues with this book and the themes it touches upon.
