Temporarily paused due to double vision preventing reading of physical books (where's the 'increase font size' button on a real book?!).

Grr - the italics are already driving me a bit bonkers. I’ve just counted and there are only 5 italics-feee pages and we’re hardly in to the story yet.

OMG. - this book is incredible! So funny and so sweet.

Voice actor for Audible version is not good - very lazy attempts at accents for non-American characters, poor pronunciation of anything outside US culture. When reading original book on paper, hadn't noticed the dissociation between the first character experience story arc, and how much the narrator has fictionalised what the Saracen may have done/felt/said. However, overall its still a great story.

Aaargh - the changes in accents from book to book are doing my head in. Victarion appears to be Australian and Dany is now Irish. Even Cersei is developing the Lannister Welsh accent in this book. Clearly no-one project managed this series…. Grr!

Oh FFS - somehow Arya has developed an Irish accent on the sea voyage over to Braavos! And Gilly is now pronounced Jilly....
It appears no-one was project managing Roy Dotrice's recordings of the 5 books, since the accents and pronunciations of some names change markedly. Quite frustrating for the listener.

Aaaargh - the Italian. I had forgotten how irritating this was (although as it was a contributing factor to returning my Audible version of this book, I should have been prepared). It is so unnecessary, and so distracting. Grr!

These ridiculous names are doing my head in. So far: Selevan Penrule; Benesek, Dellen & Kerra Kerne; Cadan Angarrak; Daidre Trahair; Jago Reeth. Grrrr...!
