Bored. I appreciate what the author was trying to do but it’s taking too long to get there. Abandoned. This reminds me of another Pulitzer Prize winning book, Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead that had the worst premise and the worst characters. Somehow I finished that book.

I don’t even know why I’m reading this, it’s not that interesting. But it was “required” before starting the main series even tho I think they came out after it started?! Sam is toast.

This book is so dense and so interesting. I’ve had it out from the library for like 2 months.

Already feeling references to Comfort Me With Apples by Catherynne M Valente, Tender is the Flesh, The Zone of Interest (movie). Liking it so far.

I’m liking this less now that the ladies have gone home after their service. I know a woman who was a nurse in Vietnam, this book makes me want to ask her about it, and I wonder if she’s read this book and how it compares with her experience.
