Hallmark movie in book form. City woman goes to small town. Can't stand to leave NYC. Swoon!

Read the content warning! Holy shit this book is tough. The intimate partner violence is graphic. I've definitely skipped to the next chapter more than once. It hurts my heart knowing that so many humans, women, men, non-binary, trans women, trans men, humans are exposed to intimate partner violence. I'm taking a break from this for now. But I will come back eventually. I need to see Iris' happy ending.

I've had this book since it came out. I knew it was going to be special, and I knew I wanted to really immerse myself in it, so I waited to read it. I'm so glad I waited. West Side Love Story is phenomenal so far. And I think of my amazing cousin Shea and her badass Mariachi band Flor de Toloache!

OK, so I totally put the book I'm reading on hold to read Boyfriend Material for the eleventy millionth time because my copy of Husband Material arrives tomorrow!

Simone's chapters are my favorite. Her first chapter is spectacular! Her voice is the absolute best!

I am so in love with Zayneb and Adam. And I really appreciate the honest look at the onset of MS symptoms. Especially in someone so young.

Kelly is evil

Did not finish. Something was nagging me about this book and it took me a while to get it. There is too much focus on food and exercising when you have a cheat day to banish what you eat. I like to read sports romances, and I understand that professional athletes have specific nutritional needs, but I don't need it in my novels. I don't need those triggers. No sir!

I just can't get into this right now. Too much emotional turmoil.
