I love it already. Into London we go, before the US joined the war. Subtle strategy and simple points. Sending a man unliked, unpopular, but with different viewpoints on the world to England as an embassy sounds like a tricky situation for someone who wants to keep out of the war. I feel like you'd want to send someone who agrees and will fight hard for your stance, not someone who will question things and fight back

I only picked up this book and I'm already on chapter 16. But even though I've stopped reading to take a break, I fear I shouldn't stop here because my heart has been cracked open and my past is coming to surround me as the protagonist's emotions and thoughts remind me all too well of things I've experienced but never had a word for. Thank you for giving me this word, author.

It's fun and mysterious.

Something's happening, but also not happening. A mystery it is.

I think I like this author. I tried to write mysterious like him once. Some people loved it. Some people thought I was just dumb with broken grammar lol. I thought I was mystical. Multiple worlds and languages all squished together. Only the right people need to understand.

Ah to live in a fantasy. To make the unknown known without them knowing it.

I'm confused. The NY Times said this book is "the stuff of nightmares", but it just seems like a drift of a casual adventure children's story to me. Nothing's happened yet - I mean, nothing big and scary. And I'm already on chapter six. Easy read though. Short, trim, calm, good. Just waiting on a storm to show up and only getting small cool breezes.

I'm SO glad it starts where the last book left off. I didn't want to miss a single thing about Vi's reunion with her brother. I do hope Mira's okay though.

This is a wonderful book filled with heavy knowledge. Not something to listen to in the background and relax. If you're going to listen, this book almost DEMANDS that you actively listen. Not everything will be understood the first time around, but the knowledge is everything. I believe it's worth it to understand.

It's a good book so far. Interesting. Already more than one potential ship to sail or root for. I've never read a war novel before so this should be interesting. Chapters are short, so makes for easy read. I enjoy it so far.

More queens and war, it seems.
