I am really enjoying this but could really do without the nasty rape scenes and animal killings. I know it's all part of the scene and such but it takes me out of the story. It's a 4 star book but those two points make me gear more towards 3 stars. One other thing I'm not understanding is the visuals for the sleeping/living quarters of the 2023 scenes. I might go reread the description of it.

So far I am not sold. It took 65+ pages of boring information and banter to get to something somewhat interesting and that was fleeting. The characters are unlikeable and unrealistic. You don't feel any connection between these "friends" and the sporadic jumping around between people and events is a little disorienting. Here is to hoping it gets better... 🤞

I don't know if I will finish this because the dog poisoning scene ruined it for me.

I can't remember what page I'm up to but the alligators and crocodiles story was so weird and kind of confusing that I dnf'ed that one. I read it while very tired but I think it's a confusing story anyway? On to the next story..

Enjoying these stories! The story Summers With Annie reminded me of a Twilight Zone episode and Expertise was good but the ending was too abrupt. I felt it needed something to round it out of a bit.

This is not really a thriller... Or at least not yet. Sort of disappointing to be honest. I am getting a history lesson which is great but if I wanted that I'd pick up a non fiction book and I'm not into romance which I didn't realize was this author's "thing". I hope this book starts picking up soon...

I wish I had the time to read this in one go!

It's been very, very, very slow going with this book. Every few pages I look up what I've read on spark notes to make sure I'm REALLY understanding what I'm reading. This is going to take me forever.

I would be done with this book in one sitting if I wasn't suffering from some sort of pandemic induced adhd. This is what I've been looking for! I've been searching for a haunted house book for years that hits the right notes... Creepy figure turning the corner, footsteps coming down the hall, terrifying figure standing in the dark, etc.. I need more haunted house books with features like this!!

The last 100 pages are getting better and I want to know what happens now.

This is definitely going to be a 2 star for me. It is taking me forever to read because I keep falling asleep! The first half of the book was so boring... Who cares about these people? I don't. I don't like the writing style as it seems disorganized and sloppy. The middle got a bit interesting for awhile and I perked up a bit. I am back to being bored but I'm unable to dnf.

This is slow going and somewhat painful. I have literally been reading this since 2014. I read two chapters, put it down, picked it back up a year later, etc. Every thought the author has is over-explained. We all know that this is how they do things on the UES. This is not the juicy rich people book you are looking for. There is no guilty pleasure here! I am determine to finish this so I have it out of my life.

This didn't get good until page 230ish. It's an emotional horror but until 230 it put me to sleep, was all over the place and not written to well. Some early chapters need less characters, stories.

Putting on the back burner. It's not a zombie book.. It's polítical and media based. Can't believe I made it halfway through. Very misleading book.
