Here, at last, is a comprehensive understanding of the setting. Coming in at an oblique angle has been interesting.

Lots of indecipherable language at the beginning. Soon settles down to words understandable in context. There is a map!

By book 11 no one should need any backstory at all relating to Pamela’s life. Let’s get on with it!

Squeaky voice narrator. Interesting story.

Skipping most of the italicized pages because they are hard to focus on.

Is there a category called “food lit” because this definitely fits that category. Skimming the food prep and eating bits. Also some of the grandchildren updates. More plot!

My copy says 2008. Unsure what the 2009 is all about.

Too much cooking and eating for me. Hardly any solving of the mystery.

I’m not finishing this book. It has become too drawn out for me. I read the last three pages and it makes no sense. I don’t know how the story got there. It’s like marrying the guy who hates you. Why would anyone do that? No matter what the journey was.

At the part where I actually have to do something. Might not finish.

There’s no way of tracking what percentage of this book I’ve listened to. So, I’m guessing. I’m on chapter 2. Annoyed by the authors fixation on “cultural appropriation” which has been happening since the Stone Age. Of course, those who take up practices from a different culture don’t always understand what they have taken or use it “appropriately.” We are all here to learn, any way we can.

This is the never ending story. Good characters and plot. Would be nice if it ended tho.

Skipping all the graphic sex, of which there is a fair amount. Would have given up. The story is good, so that has me continuing.
