Discussing Lolita with a fellow reader. I can't really recommend reading it, but it is a portrait of a monster. The language is very poetic, but it is very devilish in that. I read it wanting to know what its fans love about it.

Oh, and the penciled in chapter numbers are a big help. There are no chapter numbers, so I feel like this gives the book some sanity and linear quality it doesn't have.

This book is amazing so far. I feel like I will immediately read it again upon finishing; this book warrants some study. It's stream of consciousness in the truest sense: phonetic spellings, internal monologues, imbedded dialogue (I feel like I'm not saying it right). Anyway, it's a joy to read once you get into it, and you have to stay into it, because it's a rambling mess in a way.

I have long wanted to read this.

So far an intriguing read though I can't not read it in the sportscaster's distinctive voice. Lol

A masterpiece of design if nothing else, but it happens to be a pretty decent story, too.

This lovely volume reprints many of the earliest stories that inspired the MCU Thanos. A treasure.

This series is brilliant. Equal parts Kingdom Come and Dark Knight Returns for the Marvel Universe.

Trying to read some books of Lovecraft's letters this week. Infinitely fascinating but often dry. More historical documents to be studied than literature to be enjoyed.

Ben Shapiro's points about cancel culture and its tendency to demonize offenders for less-than-vile infractions are perhaps better founded than his insistence that a liberal arts degree doesn't qualify a graduate for entry level jobs more than candidates who don't have a degree. Perhaps as someone who holds a liberal arts degree I take this contention with more-than-slight offense, as the argument devalues my degree.

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure that I'll finish this: it's just not for me. It's hyper-violent, like pretty graphically so.
