It was funny that the author had to spend so much time on the bad habit of spitting. Laws were made, but men said they couldn’t stop, so they decided that women’s skirts should be raised so they didn’t track diseases in via their skirts. 😳

This may be a DNF-we shall see. When I first started reading it I thought it might be a middle school level book, then I read the reviews. 😬😳

I hate to not give such a detailed and well researched book a 3 star, but it was just too long and became very disjointed. So many names. We were so afraid of Russia at this time that I feel that the ones in charge felt like they didn’t have any choice but to utilize these scientists because some were also going to help the Russians. But there were just so many lies.

So sad to hear just the very beginning in Matthew’s own words.

Quick read, is probably the most positive thing I can say. Characters were unlikable. The twist at the end made me feel taken advantage of.
