Bloody hell what an intense turn of events..... The build up is finally coming to fruition

The beginning started very choppy, with multiple POVS and drip feeding of information, but I'm finally getting into this and excited to see how it all unfolds

Progress is slow ....idk about this one I'm not all that invested despite being ¼ of the way through.

I desperately need this to break free of it's princess mononoke inspirations into its own thing. There's too many similarities and I'm struggling to get into this because my brain can't separate the two 😩

The Princess Mononoke inspiration is very strong. The prose is so fitting for the mystery and danger of the wild - very poetic.

There is no universe in which she would ever deserve Talon's affection. He is too good for her.

Why do I struggle so much with cosy fantasy!!!! I wanna be here for a good time too 😩 but Iris is awful and everyone around her is so wholesome, this trope sucks for me!

The whimsy and cosiness of this book is like a balm to me. And yes, I absolutely missed Wendell Bambleby, who is somehow even more dear to me in this book.
