My mental health hurts with the amount of damage taken by the characters

The dripping depression has let off in the last few pages. Though I will not say this is no murakami novella it has been burnished enough.

Literature is a pervert's endeavour.😛

It is just like bakuman but for the book publishing world. The ins and outs are shown but not in any meaningful way. None of the exposition of the parts of the creative process.

June is a self absorbed person who is obviously guilty of story theft. Her imposter syndrome should have been the real deal.

I feel her to be a bitter person written poorly.

At times the book truly feels like it wasn't written by a human being. I feel revulsion from the behaviour of the protagonist at times, then there is nothing but pity for the same guy later.

Yes,The book keeps me in an oscillation between pity and utter disgust for a person who is inhumanly cruel but not an unfeeling cold blooded animal. I can't believe why one will put their self through a life of self-loathing.

Steph king effs your mind open with the 26th chapter. That Maniac! You'd wonder how many murders he is responsible for. Directly or indirectly.

You get the idea for why the book was pulled back. This story is like the best case scenario (for the shooter) of a school shooting. But what happens is that Charlie Decker(The shooter) becomes the 'Priest of the confessional' type and the students who he holds hostage never revolt against him in a meaningful way and cooperate and share stories of intimate nature. The kind you will only at gunpoint.

A highly original work. Unlike any fantasy I have read this far. Just awfully brilliant! And I don't call just anything like that.

True story though, I stopped having nightmares ever since I began reading this book. I wonder why?

The story this far has been grounded. The world has very very fine traces of magic that it is still the same boring world like ours. The translation is sloppy but since Japanese and Tamil (meine Muttersprache!) are semantically alike I understand that this was written in unadorned casual prose that mimics the way Japanese speak on a daily basis. That was revelationary! Maybe because of that I have grown moreinvolved

Has to much finesse and from what my meager literacy gathers, has aged like fine wine.

It's mid. Not bad, just mid. Nothing to write home about.

I still don't particularly enjoyed this book. But the story has some semblance of a plot now. I get why this book was, (maybe still is or atleast it has been) famous.

Just the usual haruki murakami whimsical nonsense in the beginning. It's quite odd. Even if I can't relate to none of the characters so far described.

Phew! It is tedious, I tell you tedious! I have not enjoyed one moment in the half hour I spent reading this drudgery.

It has very low action. ⅓rd of the book done in, so far it hasn't yet offended me.

At some times brilliant and at others a pure bother to look at and read.

The story is making up for all the slacking it did in the first half. It wasn't so much as slacking as much as setting up the plot for the big finale. Which I haven't read. But I find myself getting anchored to characters as I read them. Getting frustrated with their failiutes and excited by their little triumphs. Grieving over their demise. Oops! Spoiler alert.

It reads and feels like a voyeuristic excursion into the life of one, Toru Watanabe. Sometimes feels fake in a way that is real and other times all too real and grounded.

All together it feels like the kind of book lonely people enjoy. It's just what I think though.

Right now it feels confusing to read casually.
