Annette is reading Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl, and Sir Orfeo
Lovely translation of the Green Knight, much more enjoyable and readable than previous versions I've tried. This was my first time reading Pearl and Sir Orfeo and while I found the story of Pearl offputting with its heavy retelling of the biblical Book of Revelations and skimmed through it, I found Sir Orfeo to be almost musical and enjoyed the tale immensely. It read like an epic love ballad in rhyme.

I give up on this book. It's like trying to wade through the chapters of Moby Dick where quantity datum and rendering processes are described dryly and unnecessarily, but at least there it was only a couple of chapters to the action. This book might have been exciting in Jules Verne's time, but in 2015, the origin of computing shouldn't take 200 pages and still not be finished - get on with the story alresdy.

Annette is reading The Collected Stories of Arthur C. Clarke
Wonderful collection. I'm sorry I didn't read it years ago. One particular story surprised me as i read it, as I quickly noticed the parallel with a scifi movie blockbuster, so much so that I ran to search the movie credits and sure enough, The Lion of Comarre is credited. I am looking forward to reading the next collection.
