Just finished part one and…am I tearing up already?

OMG they just said the thing! First read and honestly I’m going in blind (haven’t seen the film either) so far I’m enjoying it well enough and think the entire book being made up of the protagonist Charlie’s diary entries is a cool concept anyways onwards we go…

This book is going to give me a fucking anxiety attack I swear to GOD. 🥲🙃

WARNING MAJOR PLOT POINTS

Ok so I’m like 99.9% sure the boy is controlling every “supernatural” thing that happens in this book via his imagination. Like him finding the fairytale storybook turned his father into “the big bad wolf” and the “scary” animated characters he saw on TV to come out of it. I’m hoping I’m wrong because it’s starting to feel like low hanging fruit but still, I’m hooked!

TW: Child Abuse
Ok how are you gonna tell me we ALREADY have an abusive father who MIGHT also be a werewolf showing up butt ass naked to the apartment complex of 1 of our 2 main protagonists (Jess) in search of his son (2nd protagonist) before possibly transforming into a werewolf and killing at least 80% of the tenants INCLUDING Jess’s roommate Kelsey. Also Jess Killed a cop thinking he was the werewolf. 😳

I picked this up at my local library’s used book store and so far it seems to drag and has been very hard to get into,the way the events thus far are being betrayed is written in a way I feel I am unable to truly retain. Despite being 50 pages in I feel I’m not fully understanding all that has transpired thus far. Might have to dnf this one for the time being and come back to it.
